Over the last 6 years, Epscan has perfected their systems in QAQC and safety, resulting in multiple quality construction projects being completed safely and on schedule. Epscan also increased the size of their maintenance and construction groups to allow them to handle any size of project efficiently and on budget.

Epscan expanded into the alternative energy market by adding Solar Powered Chemical Injection Systems and opened the Dawson Creek branch with Dan Pingitore as Manager. The Dawson Branch handles all aspects of the design and building of chemical injection systems, as well as other solar power packaged products for the oil & gas industry in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Don Stirling’s sons, Shane and Dustin Stirling joined the management team at this time and although Epscan grew and became a larger corporate entity, they continued with the tradition of a personal, small business feel while delivering great service and results.

As the instrumentation and electrical services prospered, Epscan set their sights on an expansion into Fort Nelson, and decided to bring Richard Dyck on board as Manager for the new location. The stability of the 2000’s enabled Epscan to enjoy a rapid growth spurt, and new services were added to the established company.

With a desire to grow and expand the company, Don, Bob and Earl acquired the expertise of George Rolfe, Brian Hughes and Doug Nay who brought electrical capabilities to the company in the 1980’s. The new service offerings allowed Epscan to increase the size and complexity levels of projects they undertook.

Epscan Industries Ltd. has been involved in electrical and instrumentation work for over 35 years with experience in oil & gas, mining, pulp, wood and paper industries.

Epscan started in 1977 when two instrument mechanics, Don Stirling and Bob Churchill, both from the Pacific 66 refinery, and Earl Simms, a construction supervisor, made plans to begin a fourth Instrument company in Fort St John, British Columbia after realizing there was a need for skilled and trained E&I trades workers in the marketplace. Don knew many highly skilled laborers in BC and Alberta and it was not long before Epscan became the instrumentation expert in Northern BC and surrounding area.
